Silliness

Apparently the boy weekends home with Dad can be quite hilarious.
Grandma Karen made Josiah a couple of capes for his "fantasy box." Despite the magic wand that accompanies this one, Josiah loves to pretend he is a Vegas lounge singer and watch himself on TV.

Daddy's coat and hat with Mommy's shoes - quite the look for a little boy.

This is the typical "mom, I am not tired pose." For some reason, Josiah has to assert his 2 year old independence by refusing to nap for me. Then he will take a 3 hour nap on the boy weekend. Not very fair to a pregnant mom.

Flake Out 2009

Jesse once again attended the Flake Out Festival in the Wisconsin Dells with John and Shawn. This year their sculpture was entitled "Teabagging." I think they had a lot of fun, but Jesse returned home sore as always. Once again I heard "This is our last year," the same thing I have heard for the past 5 years.

Box Trick

My mom came to visit this weekend while Jesse was out of town. Josiah got to celebrate yet another Christmas/birthday since we had not been to Iowa in a while. He got the Star Station from Fisher Price for Christmas. I must tell all the parents who read this blog that this is a wonderful gift for ego-centric children.

As you can see, Josiah is performing his "box trick," the new phrase he screams when he wants me to watch and cheer. Essentially, he rolls off the box onto his knees after a very dramatic bilateral leg lift. He gets such a kick out of watching the "baby" do the same trick on the TV.

Eventually, I think he will grasp the karaoke aspect of the star station, but for the time being he is perfectly amused to perform his acrobatics while watching himself on TV. I think this gift is going to prove to be a real treat for this mommy when I have an infant to feed and a 2 year old to entertain.

Bath Time

Josiah mastered the words "bubble bath" last night. He is happiest when he is up to his ears, laying in the tub. He has even gotten so brave as to pick up both legs and slam them into the water as hard as a 2 year old can. Needless to say, I am washing my bathroom floor daily, with lavender bubble bath.

Cookie Monster

I am always accused of giving Josiah too many "geets" (treats) throughout the day. I swear Jesse counts our candy stash to see what we have ingested when we are left home alone. But this time they left me photographic evidence of what really goes on when Mommy is at work. And they call me the lenient parent.

Oh No!!

Always the creative little character, Josiah has now learned to "stab" himself in the chest, or at least make it appear that way, with his play doh scissors. Each "cut" is followed by a very loud and very clear "Oh No."

"Christmas" Morning at Our House

Due to travelling to Ohio, Daddy said Santa would come to our house on New Year's Day. Even though we did not have a tree this year, Santa still managed to give me some pretty cool presents.
Mommy watched me as I opened my new motorcycle.

Daddy had to teach me how to use the remote control. Although the box says it is for ages 3+, Daddy thinks I should master it in no time. I think Daddy had more fun with the motorcycle than I did.

New Tractor

Santa gave me this awesome tractor and wagon for Christmas. The wagon was filled with presents.

My feet don't quite reach the pedals or the floor when I sit on the seat, but I can play a mean game of peekaboo with the steering wheel.

I also was able to sit in the wagon to open presents.

In a pinch, I can pull off the wagon to take my presents to other rooms.

I even ate dinner in the wagon, like a real farmer.
