Squash

Once again, the evil woman that calls herself "mom" made me try solid foods. This time it was squash. The first bites were pretty gross if you ask me.

Bu then I realized I was eating yet another big kid food and it made me happy. I was even more happy this morning when the mother said "Oh gross" as she changed me. Did you know that stringy squash passes virtually unchanged in your diaper? Pretty cool.

Teddy Bear

Mom thinks it is funny that my bear is as tall as I am. She does not know that we are the best of friends. I even share my toys with Teddy.

Standing Boy

Guess what guys - I can stand on my own by pulling myself up on stuff!! I practiced this morning by pulling myself up on Mom's shirt. Here I am trying to stand using my crib rail. The downside is that I also bump my head a lot more when I am standing. We have had several tear-filled breakdowns this morning. Mom thinks I am far too young to be attempting to stand. She keeps telling me I need to crawl and be able to sit-up on my own first. What does she know?

Potato

Tonight Mommy and Daddy fed me a potato, once again thinned with breast milk. I think they gave up on the rice cereal thing since neither one of them thought it tasted very good. I am not so sure about this potato stuff. The texture is sure different from the stuff I usually eat.

I kept ducking down to sneak my thumb into my mouth. Really Mom - let's just stick with milk.

Rice Cereal

June 21 my mommy and daddy let me have my first taste of grown-up food. We started the evening with playtime in the high chair while the parents ate dinner.

Then I got my first taste of rice cereal thinned with breast milk.

I decided it was more fun to sit on Dad's lap and play with Mackenzie then to eat that stuff.

Dr. C

As you all know, Mom routinely drags me to her staff meetings. Today we got to view slides of cardiac catheterizations. I was super excited to watch the dye flow through blocked vessels. I even waved my arms and giggled for the stent placements. Mom thinks I should be a interventional cardiologist. It does have a nice ring to it, Dr. Josiah.

6 months Old

I was 6 months old on Monday, so today I had my check-up. I am 17 lbs 1 oz (in the 50th percentile) and 27" long (in the 75th percentile). Mom and Dad can start solids anytime they want now and Mom was encouraged to have me start using a cup. I guess it is time for me to eat "real food." Sophie and I celebrated the good news.
