We watched th sunset on the beach our second night in California. Daddy and I put our feet in the water. Man, is it cold!

Random Pictures

I practiced my "scary baby" face while we were driving.
Even though we had bear boxes at our campsite, this was the only bear I got to see on the whole trip.

Mommy and Daddy got to meet Paul Bunyon while I was sleeping in the car. I think if it was not raining, I could have seen the "trees of Mystery" too.

Redwood Trees

We stopped at a drive through Redwood park on the way to Uncle Seth's. I cannot believe how big these trees are. I think I need one for my back yard.

Forest Fires

We did not see any active forest fires when we were in California, but we did see the smoke in Oregon. Daddy drove past a couple of fire base camps on the way up the coast. We also stopped at Lake Shasta to check out this fire plane. Apparently it can scoop up 700.000 gallons of water in 28 seconds and then dump it on 3/4 of an acre. Mommy and Daddy were impressed by that data. I don't quite understand it yet.
